July 1st, 2005 - Several members of a military unit in Malton's sister city Miranda, were anticipating a tremendous 4th of July weekend. Little did they know, it would be the end of their careers... and to others, the end of their life. Monday was a holiday for these personnel who were forward deployed to Miranda, which meant an extra night to party. Friday night was no holds barred for all... They had to downplay the reason for their nocturnal activities at most pubs and hotels, but for the locals it seemed business as usual for the military.
July 2nd, 2005 - Nobody remembers the night before. The cure for the massive pain surging throughout was at least 90 Proof! Celebrations carried on all afternoon and into the night. Apart from remembering the morning of the 1st, nobody wants to remember what happened after Last Call....
July 4th, 2005 - That morning, members of the military team found themselves isolated in cells of the bases brig. They had no idea what had transpired either the night of the second or the entire day of the 3rd. They only learned of the date when the Judge Advocate General notified them of the day AND CHARGES AGAINST THEM!! The most serious charges were on the level of Cruelty and Maltreatment (Art. 93), Destruction of non-military property (Art. 109), Drunken or reckless operation of vehicle, aircraft, or vessel (Art. 111), Dueling (Art. 114), Provoking speeches or gestures (Art. 117), Murder AND Manslaughter (Art.s 118 and 119), Maiming (Art. 124), Assault (Art. 128), Housebreaking (Art. 130), and to top it all off, multiple charges against Article 116 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice...... Riot or Breach of Peace ......
July 5th, 2005 - It seems that things were proceeding fairly quickly as far as a speedy trial was concerned. The members were given clean bills of health, both physically and mentally, and able to stand trial, they were given attorneys, read their rights, and didn't even know what happened !!! That was until multiple videos were shown of what went down with their unit !!!
July 6th, 2005 - Not only did they have video evidence against them, but some compelling statements from the locals also. It seemed weird that they were all on trial together and so damn fast. "WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT??!!" was the question racing around their brains. Nobody clearly remembers. There were pints, lagers, crisps, ales, scotches, bourbons, bangers and mash..... oooh, the bangers and mash!! One fuzzy detail was meeting a weird set of locals who looked like they were 200 years old with skin that was like the toughest leather.... And those teeth.... But nothing made sense even after last call.... Finally after hours of waiting they were going to show video footage shot by several locals who had various digital recorders handy that evening. This was the moment they were waiting for.... and they should have waited !!!

July 3rd, 2005 - A beautiful day turning into a relaxing night. We are at the beach on the West end of the town waiting for the sun to set. It is going to be an award winning picture..... A few scattered clouds to create rays of sunshine emanating from the sun. It's going to create a great pinkish or red sunset - Definitely true about the old saying, "Red sky at night, sailors delight."
The temperature is just right, the food was great, and the water not too cold. We even decided to celebrate without too much alcohol. Nothing but great relaxing times and.......
July 3rd, 2009 - Damn! I had that dream again. 4 years later and I still cannot remember what happened that night when it all began. 4 years. The dream is nice, but I would rather not have it told that way. I can't even remember where I am right now... Hell, it doesn't really matter - because it is still Malton. Wait. I remember now. I passed out in the North warehouse in the middle of Wolfgang Hospital, Blaxall PD, and the Merson Building.
If they can invent a chemical to bring you back from the un-dead, then why can't they make something for me to remember what happened 4 years ago? Or better yet, why can't I just die permanently to dream about the beach party forever?
I'll remember someday. Until then, I guess I can scrounge around for supplies and maybe find some anniversary stuff to celebrate.......

May 4th, 2010 - Damn. 2 months shy of the 5th anniversary of..... well... whatever happened. I am not alone anymore. I.... I mean 'WE', are here in Grigg Height's still. I remember these guys and they have the same memories. Except for the celebration around the 4th of July almost 5 years ago. Boertje really stands out..... I trust him with my life, but whenever I scrounge a bottle of beer in Malton, his eyes are different. We have talked many times remembering about the good times. But then again, when there is alcohol, there is most likely good times.... Except 5 years ago...
Of course some of the others are here with us that we have found amongst the carnage out here. We hardly use our real names anymore as it doesn't matter. Our nicknames and call-signs from our days past are as good as gold.
The past. Why can't we remember much of it? It could not have been the celebration. We were self-proclaimed 'Professional Drinkers'.... This requires only one of us to drink slightly less than the rest to tell us what happened the night before......
I think we will have to sit down this year and discuss the events leading up to and just slightly after the July 4th weekend 5 years ago....
All I can remember is having a good time with Paynekiller, chanman20, Jas0nV00rhees, remmy.... where is remmy......??
We need to look for him. Why did we leave him behind?
Wait a minute.....
There are many others from our group...... We need to find them again so we can piece this puzzle together soon.
There are rumors of an attempted escape from Malton in the coming weeks. I hope we can find them there. I hope we can remember what happened to us and the rest of Malton before we have to celebrate another anniversary here......
I can't go on for another year here unless we get more answers!
