In life, there are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading and the few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence.

Some might consider themselves lone cowboys, content to play single-player games where developers direct the experience. Others prefer the chaos of the unscripted online world, a virtual Wild West of its own. Red Dead Redemption has something special for all breeds of gamers.

Red Dead Redemption is a Western epic, set at the turn of the 20th century when the lawless and chaotic badlands began to give way to the expanding reach of government and the spread of the Industrial Age. A follow up to the 2004 hit Red Dead Revolver, this game
takes place roughly 50 years after Revolver, just after the turn of the twentieth century.

Red Dead Redemption Exclusive Pre-Order Bonuses: The Referendum, The Golden Guns, The War Horse and More.
Rockstar announces a wide variety of exclusive Red Dead Redemption pre-order bonuses available via retail partners across the US and UK (details on international pre-order programs to be announced very soon).

Be sure to order the limited edition of Red Dead and get tons of extra's!

* Extra’s (Downloadable Content)
* Soundtrack
* Black Stallion (Horse)
* Gunpack (More Weapons)
* Extra outfits
* Extra minigames for money, outfits and weapons

Example:

The Golden Guns Weapon Pack

The player who wields the exclusive Golden Guns receives more Fame for each kill. The more Fame you get, the more in-game side missions become available. So there will be more opportunities to duel, more kidnapped townsfolk to rescue and you can bribe lawmen for less. The Golden Guns Weapon Pack is exclusive to Amazon pre-orders in both North America and the U.K., and Amazon.com customers will also receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card.

The War Horse

There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher than the exclusive War Horse. Whether storming gang hideouts, exploring the wilderness for hidden treasure, or outrunning the law, the War Horse gives gunslingers an advantage in nearly every situation. The War Horse is exclusive to Best Buy pre-orders in North America and HMV pre-orders in the U.K.

I pre-ordered the limited edition yesterday and I think I'm going to need it, because like you always said, AA;
"I can't seem to hit the side of a barn with my guns." Mr. Green

Besides that, my PS3 game-credo most of the time is: "If you can't beat 'em, cheat 'em!" Mwuhahahaha!

We (the US) do not get a limited edition in the US even though we are the ones that had a 'Wild West'........

I pre-ordered through Amazon so I will get the Golden Guns (or whatever)

Yeah, but most of Europe gets the collectors edition or whatever it is....

But then again I get a $20 gift card from Amazon and the Golden Guns..... That $20 is almost 40% off the game if I could apply it...

I played this game for a while today and was really impressed. It is kinda late now and I'll skip a review, but would easily give this a very high rating (minus a point for having no controller config function - This is 2010, not 1990!)

Other than me, this is probably the best thing to have San Diego attached to any project..... Spam!

Here is a review on yahoo that made the top story when I logged on to get the news....

You'd think the lawless atmosphere of the Old West would be the perfect venue for compelling video game action, but oddly, cowboy-themed games are a rare sight.

But not this week.

Red Dead Redemption, a gritty cowboy thriller from the creators of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, should be in your local game store by now, and it's promising to shoot up the charts with all the enthusiasm its outlaw heroes might normally display for shooting up a saloon.

And judging by the rave reviews it's getting, its purchasers are in for a real treat. So far, Red Dead Redemption, which combines Grand Theft Auto's familiar open-world structure with the atmosphere, script, and cast of a big-budget Clint Eastwood flick, is earning immense praise.

It's "one of 2010's best games so far" (G4TV). It's "a truly epic resuscitation of the Western theme in games" (Official Xbox Magazine). It's "one of the deepest, most fun, and most gorgeous games around" (IGN). Even the New York Times hopped on the bandwagon, calling it "such a convincing, cohesive and enthralling reimagination of the real world that it sets a new standard for sophistication and ambition in electronic gaming."

In short, if you're serious about Westerns, this might just be the best game you've ever played.

You are gonna like this game. If you like wold west themes, you are gonna shut out the real world and starve to death playing this game.

One of the cool parts is when you are just riding along, and all of a sudden someone on the side of the trail needs help, so you can stop and help out if you need to. I got a treasure map from one guy but can't find the location yet.

You can also grab wanted posters and capture or kill the bad guy and his gang.

I know there is lots of stuff to do, but I have to get back to playing it.... even though it is 5 AM here!! Let's Rock!

Enjoy it!!
